UBBC at DBT reception for Ukrainian officials

Baroness Nicholson and Christophe Michels attended the DBT and FCDO reception at the IOD and met several officials and reunited with Dmytro Nataluka (head of the parliamentary economic committee) and Alona Shkrum who originally supported the formation of UBBC at the launch in 2023.
Alona Shkrum is Ukraine’s Deputy Minister for Community and Territories Development and in her speech gave heartfelt thanks to the UK for supporting Ukraine from the start and celebrated the 100-year agreement into the future.
The delegation of ministers and officials were attending a Ukraine recovery conference at Wilton Park for the previous two days, including the discussion on strengthening local and regional governance, boosting participative democracy and enhancing EU partnerships. The conference convened government, civil society and international community members, with a focus on reform priorities and sustainable recovery in Ukraine.
