Ukraine Britain Business Council held a very well attended reception in the House or Lords, hosted by our chair Baroness Nicholson. Welcoming guest and dignitaries the Baroness thanked everyone for coming and said she had visited Ukraine several times last year and encouraged attendees to join UBBC and apply to attend trade missions that UBBC are happy to arrange.

Introducing Deputy Ukrainian Ambassador Mr Eduard Fesko, he said that President Zelensky is ready to negotiate with Putin and Trump to end the war, and that when the war ends, British businesses will have an ‘unfair advantage’ in securing contracts thanks to the constant and unwavering support shown by Britain to Ukraine, which is much appreciated. Christophe Michels (MD UBBC) echoed his willingness to visit Ukraine as soon as UBBC has sufficient members to take on a mission – as ‘we do not want to return empty handed’. Introducing Mr Sergey Bartkiv of the London Stock Exchange group, who said the ‘LSEG is open for business registering from Ukraine’ and that London is the natural and most local place to raise capital for Ukrainian business. Attendees then networked for the remaining evening.

Attendees included members Zaha Hadid, Bath Spa University, TSL, Chesterfields, G4S, and guests; EBRD, FCDO, Innovate UK, DBT, Deloitte, JP Morgan, Nat West, Kingspan, SCEG, Urban Tech Alliance, Paterson & Cooke, Acrow, CMS, Hogan Lovells, Harcus Parker, Embassy of Ukraine, among many.
